In partnership with our friends at Core-Rx Communications in Chicago, we designed and developed an educational, consumer-facing website for their national campaign, “AH-ha!TM It’s Acne Hormones”.

Design work that “Pops”

Acnehormones.com and the AH-ha!TM It’s Acne Hormones campaign seeks to educate on the root cause of a skin condition we’ve all struggled with. Hint hint – it’s acne hormones. And since teens and adults, males and females alike, deal with these hormones, the creative direction was easy– represent them! With help from the electrifying personality of Dr. Sandra Lee, aka Dr. Pimple Popper from TLC, it was a blast keeping things light– infusing color, handwritten drawings and illustrations, animations, and humanist shapes into all facets of this fun design.

Expert content delivered in fun ways

From hand-drawn illustrative videos and animated gifs to eye-catching graphics and scrolling animations, the content experience on the site keeps users engaged. Through multiple collaborative design brainstorm sessions with the Core-Rx creative team, Think It First came up with fun and novel ways to tell the AH-ha! story.

Like a tour guide, Dr. Pimple Popper is always there to inject “AH-haTM moments” of inspiration and follows the user down the page via a small video “bug” ready to launch with a new tidbit. Multiple sections leverage user-scrolling functionality to instruct how to care for your face or how to prep for your dermatology appointment. Another page is a library of Q&A tips, resources, and videos featuring Dr. Pimple Popper herself.

Wide reach for a broad audience

The AH-ha!TM It’s Acne Hormones campaign is a multi-channel, national campaign reaching far and wide. In support, Think It First integrated an Instagram feed into the site, built out a large set of complementary programmatic banner ads, and connected a robust set of GA4 analytics KPI tracking. Bigger plans are in store for the future of this ongoing campaign– stay tuned!
