S.S. Industries is the largest manufacturer of Spiral Stairs manufacturer in the country. In the past 10 years, the company has been recognized with consecutive spots on the Inc. 5000 list and the Philadelphia Business Journal Soaring 76 Award.

While SSI has evolved and grown exponentially over the years, websites for their two leading stair brands, Paragon Stairs and Salter Spiral Stairs, were no longer accurate representations of their quality and category leadership. Think It First was tasked with redesigning and rebuilding new platforms for both brands to grow the business, develop new ways to generate leads on-site, and better showcase their lines of premium spiral and straight stairs and DIY solutions.

Paragon Stairs

The Paragon Stairs design system, paired with a robust set of modular content blocks, gave the Paragon team the flexibility they needed to grow their WordPress website alongside the business. First, we reorganized site content to make it more logical and created a megamenu that allowed the user to find deeply embedded content and create new paths for discovery. We built in WooCommerce to support their online sales efforts and a suite of new lead-generation tools, forms, and customer experiences that integrate with an existing their existing Martech stack including Salesforce, Optimize, and Google Shopping. This has all made updating and building new content, forms, and testing on the site a breeze.

Stair Builder tool with 3D rendering

Highlighting the reinvigorated customer experience is a custom-built stair builder tool. The tool allows the user to define stair dimensions, tread types, accessories, and finishes from an abundant, off-site data set while mapping 3D renders to provide a real-time visual of what’s being built.

Intelligent lead flow experiences

Think It First also built a custom lead-flow quiz that allows customers to personalize their stair buying experience. Through inputs for the type of stair, customer type, stair location, lead time, installation type, geography, and budget, the digital tool gives recommendations for products, lead times, installation tips, and more to get the best-fit stair solutions and advice that match their project.

While proudly sporting a unique design system and set of modular content blocks all its own, Salter Spiral Stairs has just as much firepower as its sister brand, Paragon.

Builder Tools and Quick Pricing Flow

For the Salter Stair builder tool, we took the learnings from the Paragon stair builder and infused a similar tech approach while maintaining a distinct UI/UX. Salter also presents the customer with a simple, custom, 3-step quick pricing widget that has increased on-site conversion rates by 40% since its introduction.

The TIF Process is why we were so confident in our choice. The project started with a kick-off meeting and discovery period where we discussed our goals for the new site. From there, the team delivered detailed wireframes and blueprints that gave us detailed insight into what the site would look like. They took all of our needs and objectives and translated them into high-converting modules that allowed us to own the majority of our site. After launching the site, we saw an improved bounce rate at 2% YOY, and Web CVR improved by 30% YOY.
